Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children
Established in 1852, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is one of the top five children’s hospitals in the world. GOSH supports around 76,000 children each year, providing specialist services for children with conditions including rare cancers, genetic disorders and complex medical or surgical conditions. Together with the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, GOSH hosts the UK’s only paediatric National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre.
Hospital for Tropical Diseases
The Hospital for Tropical Diseases is the only NHS hospital dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tropical diseases, including malaria, leprosy, parasites and diseases of the skin, eye, and gut. The hospital is closely affiliated with both University College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Moorfields Eye Hospital
Moorfields Eye Hospital is the oldest specialist ophthalmic hospital in the world, and one of the largest centres of treatment, teaching and research globally. Moorfields plays a key role in ophthalmic education in the UK, providing specialist surgical training top ophthalmologists, as well as contributing to broader training for both medical students and nurses.
Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals
The Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals together make up one of the largest specialist heart and lung centres in Europe. The centre is unique in the UK in providing a total artificial heart programme and has a track-record of innovation, from pioneering heart and lung transplant surgery in the 1980s, to driving progress in cystic fibrosis treatment.
Royal Marsden Hospital
The Royal Marsden was the first hospital in the world dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education when it opened in 1851. Today, over 59,000 patients are treated at the hospital each year. Along with its principal academic partner, the Institute for Cancer Research, it is ranked in the top five cancer centres globally for research impact.
Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals
Established in 2019, The Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals combines previous specialist ear, nose and throat (ENT) and dental services in one of the largest specialist centres for outpatient care of patients with conditions relating to the head and neck, including hearing, speech, balance and sleep issues. The hospital is part of University College London Hospitals NHS trust.

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is the UK’s leading specialist orthopaedic hospital, and a world-renowned centre for the diagnosis and treatment of complex orthopaedic conditions. As a national tertiary hospital, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital provides comprehensive neuro-musculoskeletal health care, ranging from acute spinal injury and complex bone tumours to orthopaedic medicine and specialist rehabilitation for chronic back pain sufferers.
