100,000 Genomes Project
The 100,000 Genomes Project was a world-first study to sequence and study the role our genes play in health and disease. 18.5% of data turned into actionable findings, 85K+ participants, 120,000+ genomes sequenced. Genomics England, itself based in London, is now running a successor project, the Newborn Genomes Programme

Queen Mary University of London
Two QMUL research papers in genomic medicine have been selected in the top 10 most important advances in applying genomic medicine to clinical care in 2022. Researchers found that genome sequencing may be the method of choice for detecting repeat expansion disorders, and the 100,000 genomes project showed that genome sequencing led to a substantial increase in diagnosis.

Francis Crick Institute
Researchers at the Francis Crick Institute described how changes to cancer cell DNA are enabling them to anticipate how those cells will behave in the future, in the first long-term study of how lung cancer evolves. The TRACERx study, funded by Cancer Research UK, involved more than 800 patients in clinical trials, and will significantly impact how cancer patients are diagnosed and treated.
